The AMPERE Newsletter

The AMPERE Newsletter appears quarterly and covers short topical articles written by experts in the field. Typically it also includes a profile, conference reports, advertisements, a calendar of events and news items on various aspects of radio frequency and microwave energy usage in the ISM frequency band, covering topics broadly from 1 MHz to 30 GHz, although higher frequencies have also been covered. It also highlights on promising new research developments to emanate from academe and industry.

Editorial

In this issue we are highlighting the seminar organized by Dr Vadim Yakovlev of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Professor Jose Catala-Civera on the theme of modelling in microwave power engineering. The event was sponsored by the UPV Telecommunication School and was hosted at the Polytechnic University of Valencia during 5-6 March 2007.

The organization for the 11th AMPERE International Conference is well under way with over 120 abstracts submitted for review. I hope to see as many of you as possible in Oradea where another conference in series is staged for he benefit of the rf and microwave community worldwide.

As the election of the members for he Committee of Management is approaching those who are nterested in joining the Committee should send their nominations together with their supporters nominations by July 4th 2007 to Dr Sanchez-Hernandez who is coordinating this election (see below).
