AMPERE President’s Message
AMPERE
Association for Microwave Power in Europe for Research and Education
Nottingham, 25th January 2021
Dear AMPERE affiliates and friends,
I would like to take the opportunity to wish you a happy new year and good health particularly amidst the difficulties faced by many of us due to the global pandemic.
For some time know we have been working on developing and updating our website and I truly hope that you will find it more informative and easier to navigate.
In the last few years, we had to implement some changes to comply with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), while taking the necessary steps to ensure that the website could be accessed via portable devices. Additionally, we have incorporated the Newsletter website within the Association website, offering a single and compact information source.
I would hope that those of you who having any information about events and approved projects, will readily be willing to prepare a short paragraph for the News, so that to ensure a more active and vivid website. The introduction of a new page fully dedicated to the events organized and endorsed by AMPERE provides a data bank for past and future events which can be enriched with new endorsed events.
I conclude this letter listing several important events:
- The AMPERE conference will be held on 13-16 September 2021 at Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), co-chaired by Birgitta Raaholt and Per Olof Hedekvist.
- The 55th Annual Microwave Power Symposium (IMPI 55) will take place virtually from June 28-
30, 2021. - The XIX International UIE Congress on Evolution and New Trends in Electrothermal Processes (Czech Republic), 1–3 September 2021.
And finally, I would like to remind you that the 4GCMEA, global conference, that was originally scheduled on 17-20 August 2020, Chengdu (China), and now it has been definitely postponed to 2022.
We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the experience of our affiliates with AMPERE, and in that respect any feedback from you that will help us towards that goal would be always gratefully received.
Best wishes,
Georgios Dimitrakis
President, AMPERE
